Charlie Denis is a Los Angeles-based photographer and director working across fashion, music and commerce. A Central Saint Martins graduate, his background in Fine Art consistently informs his approach to photography and film. He rejects documenting realism, believing a camera inherently imposes performance, and instead fuses the theatrical with the inescapable banality of everyday life. Even within chaos, a prevalent stillness and slowness run throughout his work, creating a haunting eeriness as moments stretch or suspend between cinematic glamour and mundane boredom—his subjects often appearing “all dressed up with nowhere to go.”
