Halina Reijn is a renowned writer, director, actress and author, originally from Amsterdam and based in New York.

Halina most recently directed the Gen-Z murder-mystery-comedy BODIES BODIES BODIES for A24. Halina received an Independent Spirit Award Nomination in the Best Director category for her outstanding work on the film. Hailed as one of the most enjoyable and inventive films of the year, the film stars Amandla Stenberg, Pete Davidson, Maria Bakalova, Lee Pace, and Rachel Sennott. The film was released wide on August 12th 2022 after its initial world premiere to rave reviews at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival.

Previously, Halina wrote and directed her critically acclaimed debut feature, INSTINCT, starring Carice van Houten and Marwan Kenzari, which was the Netherland’s 2019 Foreign Language Oscar submission and launched at such film festivals as Locarno, Toronto, and BFI. The film was acquired and released by A24 in September 2022.

INSTINCT marked the first project for Man Up, the production company Halina formed with Carice van Houten. Man Up also produced the Dutch/Belgian television series RED LIGHT which Halina created, co-wrote, and starred in. RED LIGHT was named Best Television Drama and Halina was named Best Actress at the 2020 Golden Calf Awards. The series also won two awards at its world premiere at Canneseries in October 2020. RED LIGHT was recently released on Amazon Prime.

Halina is an accomplished film, television, and theater actress who has worked with legendary stage director Ivo van Hove at the International Theatre Amsterdam, performing leading roles around the world. She starred in the Oscar-nominated film ZUS & ZO, Paul Verhoeven’s BLACK BOOK, and VALKYRIE, opposite Tom Cruise, and can also be seen in the Swedish series CONSPIRACY OF SILENCE, directed by Charlotte Brändström.
