Jackie! Zhou is non-binary and ageless. They are a Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary artist and director who is keen on blurring the lines between formats and disciplines. They love to celebrate and examine the absurdity of the human experience and the surprising specific details that can connect us. Their work includes the music videos for Chappell Roan's "HOT TO GO!" and “Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl” and the narrative short “Order for Pickup” which premiered at Tribeca. They are currently developing their first feature, "Rumspringa” which has received support from Sundance, Tribeca, and The Gotham. They identify as a maximalist and their work is playful and tender. They are chronically online and know what the girlies want and what the bros need. As a sound designer, their work includes Janelle Monáe’s “Dirty Computer”, Tarantino’s “Hateful Eight”, and has been presented at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Oculus Plaza, and The Public Theater. Finally, they originated the role of Jimmy Chin in Free Solo: The Musical. Regardless of format, they strive to champion humans both on and off camera - the making of art is always sweeter shared. Above all, they believe good listeners make great storytellers.
